Google to delete user data to settle 'incognito' privacy lawsuit
As part of its settlement in a U.S. lawsuit, Google will wipe data gathered via the incognito Chrome browsing option, according to The Wall Street Journal. Furthermore, Google needs to "maintain a change to Incognito mode that enables users to block third-party cookies by default" in addition to updating the user data it gathers during private surfing. It does not include damages in the settlement, but it does let users make separate claims.
CNIL publishes first AI data protection recommendations
The Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libert├ęs, France's data protection body, has released its first set of guidelines for utilizing AI technologies while guaranteeing the security of personal information. In order to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation, the guidelines center on the legal and technical aspects of AI use. These include establishing a legal foundation for processing personal data using AI systems and conducting testing when data is reused. Denmark's DPA updates data transfer guidance for third countries
Datatilsynet, Denmark's data protection office, has revised its guidelines for transferring data to third parties. The rules address recently released data from the European Commission and the European Data Protection Board.
